ABOUT PRAYER RETREATS OF KJMC
The Congregation stated organizing retreats since 2005. The word «retreat» is taken from English and it means «going away, being sheltered, getting away from society». Usually it is an event held in quite secluded place close to nature, which helps to isolate from the habitual surrounding and get involved into one activity, which is seeking the Lord and His ways. As a military term «retreat» means relocation and rearranging the troops for the reinforcement and preparation for the new attack.
That’s why at the retreats we have both personal and corporate solitude. As to the military aspect of the retreat it really became for many participants the place for the receiving their breakthrough and moving forward.
All the retreats are unexceptionally devoted to the currently central for every single believer issues of faith and personal relationships with God and also peculiarities of the modern New Testament ministry.
Almost at every prayer retreat we speak about Jewish Bible feasts and about the essence and goals of the ministry to Israel in the last days. During retreats we consider and study the following topics «What does Brit Hadasha (New Testament) tell about the Kingdom of God?», «What does Tanakh (Old Testament) tell about the Kingdom of God?», «Salvation», «God's Fear», «Role and meaning of local churches», «Biblical awakeness», «Abraham's Faith» and others.
During these years many famous ministers came to our retreats to teach and preach. Among them: Bette and Rick Strombeck, John Arnott, Rob Parker, Rick Carelli, Rosemary Klaussen, Mathew Kuruvilla, Don Finto, Jim Anderson, Aleksandr Epp, Sergey Shydlovskyi, Rostislav Shkinder, Mikhail Panochko, monk of Dominican Order Petr Oktaba, Sergey Velbovets, Grygoriy Komendant, Boris Grisenko and others.
As for the opinion of KJMC senior rabbi Boris Grisenko, rabbi of KJMC «The global Messianic movement (in accordance with the prophesies of the Bible) is one of the most important movements of God's restoration of the last days. And retreats of KJMC are one of the platforms where this movement is represented and from where it goes further through everyone who wants to serve God in power and grace of the last times».
Thus KJMC retreat is a prayerful ascent into Mount of the Lord; it is a time for thirsty hearts to have intimate relationship with God; it is a way out of vanity and everyday worries; it is seeking His face and new revelations according the Word of God; it is revealed power of the Holy Spirit; it is a Jewish Messianic worship and dances; it is the worship of the Father and special intimacy with Him; it is fasting, prayer and intercession in different directions; and it is a fellowship of believers from different cities and countries, congregations and churches.
