Our rabbi speaks

rebe molitva    Boris Grisenko has been the Senior Rabbi (pastor) of KJMC from the very beginning.

Rabbi Boris is also the Vice Chairman of the Ukrainian Interchurch Council and holds an Honorary Doctorate in Theology from CLST (Christian Life School of Theology).

Within the Сongregation, he initiated forms of ministry that were somewhat unusual for religious communities at the time, such as clubs, coffee rooms, outdoor Shabbats (Saturday services) and concerts devoted to biblical holidays. For the first time ever, KJMC began to regularly use original Jewish music that had been developed in the territory of Ukraine in the 18th and 19th centuries during their Shabbat services to praise God. Thousands of people have repented over the years that the Сongregation has been at work thanks to these services.

Having read 1 Kings 19:1-11, we could trace the reaction of the prophet Elijah to the following events: Elijah had gained a resolute victory over the army of false prophets. He was on the highest pinnacle of glory and power and at the top of his ministry. And in that very moment, Jezebel (a symbol of evil in the history of Israel and the daughter of the Phoenician king-idolater) sends her messenger threatening to kill him.

Am I Strong in God?

Are You Strong
"God often puts to shame the strong ones who are confident in their own strength and do not use it as it is intended by God. He shames those who are strong, cool and confident through the weak ones who are so weak that constantly need the power of God and know that God will not let them down.

Freedom and other temptations for the youth

We live in such a time when contemporary youth have “aces up their sleeves” that past generations didn’t have. This is both a special and an amazing time that gives youth different advantages. Here are some of them:

  • Social freedom

Currently young people don’t experience as strict social, cultural and class limitations as in the past. Even at the beginning of the 20th century, when a youngster came from a poor peasant family, he had practically no chance to gain a better social status.

Do You Experience Sadness and Conviction From God or Satan?

a light in the dark

Satan does it in a way that his accusations bring people to despair and hopelessness. There is a difference between Satan’s accusation and conviction of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit convicts us to repent and become free.

“We make our choice when God puts us into hard difficult life circumstances where we either give up or choose to follow God. If we choose God, the process of our renewal starts (2 Corinthians 4:16). But, when we don't make the right choice, God tests us with difficulties, hardships, and losses. These circumstances can repeat until we make the right choice.

What Happens When We Follow God?

When we are going after God; when we are really going after Him, we find that God has already gone before us. But when we are standing still and not going after God, it seems to us that God is behind us waiting for us to stumble. This is a very important point.  When we go with Him, it becomes clear, and the further we go, the clearer it becomes that we are following Him.
