In the wilderness, certain Jews couldn’t celebrate Pesach because they were considered impure from coming into contact with human corpses. So they approached Moses for instructions, which resulted in Pesach Sheni.
After prayer, Moses received instructions from God. On the 14 Iyar, or a month after Pesach, there would be a second opportunity to celebrate Pesach. It was called Pesach Sheni - a second Pesach. All who were unclean and could not celebrate Pesach could celebrate at Pesach Sheni.
Pesach Sheni means that it's never too late to correct the mistakes of the past! And if you are sincere and longing to change, you would have a second chance.
The biblical definition of "the Teshuva" or repentance.
Teshuva means turning or repentance. Do you remember the Passage about "repentance from dead works"? It sounds very symbolic in this meaning.
Teshuva is not just confession and repentance from our sins along with a commitment to stop sinning.. Yes, this is the main and most important part of it. Teshuva is also repentance from dead works and turning to the Living God. God is faithful if you prove yourself faithful.
Hezekiah who was the faithful king of Judah had celebrated Pesach Sheni with the Jewish people over 2700 years ago. This amazing story is found in 2 Chronicles 30:1-5 and 10-11.
